We took the bus to the Partnach gorge today. I can only describe it in one word: BREATHTAKING!!!! I am always awed by natures beauty and force and today was no exception. We hiked with my cousin Michael who is visiting (our first official visitor) and of course the boys. There is a trail carved into the side of the rock wall at the bottom of the gorge next to the river that at times was only 3 feet wide. There were waterfalls coming from above some falling over 200 feet to the bottom. At the top of the gorge we took a break and had some lunch, threw some rocks and then trekked back down. Lil Kody was so tuckered out he fell asleep as soon as we got out of the gorge and slept all the way to the hotel. It was a great day and a great way to wind up Michael's visit. Make sure you check out the pics on FB!!! More to come.

Our trip to Eibsee
Well we took a trip to Eibsee (translates to Eib lake.) We had a neat boat ride on an old criss craft around the lake and then had some time to just walk around. We had some apple strudel with cream (I should say Erik had strudel and only shared one bite it was so good) and I had a brat and fries. Then we took a look around and walked down to a little beach and dipped our feet in. It wasn't as cold as you would think for a lake fed by the Alps. All in all despite the weather it was a great day for all of us. Erik has started working in earnest now so the boys and I are trying to find stuff to do. I check the housing office daily to see if there are any new options and then we usually swim. We cannot wait to get into a house and settle in!!! Kaleb starts school at the end of August and then I will hopefully have a job. Stay tuned for more!!!

FINALLY A REAL PICTURE!!!
Everyone probably saw the pics on the FB but thought i would put this one here. Things are going well, I am working and trying to get the hang of things here while Susie has been taking care of the logistics so to speak. She has been doing such a wonderful job!!! I honestly don't know what I would do without her!!!! We have two houses to look at today and tomorrow. I really hope the one tomorrow works out, it is close to the job and a decent size. Of course smaller than what we had in Yakima but what're ya gonna do. We are visiting Eibsee lake this Sunday so that should be fun!! So much to do and see. AND DID I MENTION SAUSAGE WRAPPED IN BACON?!?!?!

On a side note, had a wonderful visit with Jim and Christina Vaughn last night along with their daughter Heather and grandson Tevin. It was so nice to see familiar faces in this new and strange place. Kaleb and Tevin had a great time at the pool while Christina and I visitied and Jim and Erik talked shop. We are going out to a German restaurant tonite in Garmisch that Christina likes, we cannot wait to have some real German food again.
Cable Car and AlpspiX
Well today we went up the cable cars, three different cable cars actually, to the AlpspiX look out. It consists of two walkways that are about 3200 feet over the Hollental Gorge below the Zugspitze. The catch is that the walkways are "see through" because they are just metal grates on the bottom. We forced ourselves to go out on the higher one so that we could say that we did it. We will upload pictures as soon as we get our download cable!!!
